Autumn BMTF Steering Board (SB) Meeting took place in Tivat, Montenegro from 10 to 11 October 2022.
The meeting was hosted by Ministry of Defense of Montenegro, and cover regular agenda items including Activity Plan for 2023 and initial discussion on further steps necessary to be taken after obtaining a legal status of the BMTS Standing Organization.
In addition to regular participants to the meeting, coming from the BMTF Participating Nations and Partner Nations, the BMTF had a pleasure to welcome special guests from European External Action Service (EEAS) and ITF Enhancing Human Security.
The guests attended the meeting with the aim of presenting the recently approved aid measure to support the BMTF by the EU Council. On 9 June 2022, the EU the Council adopted an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility (EPF) worth €6 million to the benefit of the Balkan Medical Task Force. The Administrator of the project will be EU – European Peace Facility (EPF) and implementing actor will be ITF. The project shall be implemented within 36 months, starting from ITF identification phase.
