The Third Regional Military Medical Conference was held in the House of Guards at Topčider, Belgrade from 17th to 19th of June 2019. Participants from all nations participating in the Balkan Medical Task Force, partner nations Kingdom of Norway and United States of America, as well as other participants from outside the region – Algeria, Turkey, Greece, Moldova and Azerbaijan were present.
Norwegian Major General John Gerhard Reichelt, Serbian Brigadier general Uglješa Jovičić and USA Colonel Mathew Peterson in their opening speeches underlined the importance of enhancing the regional cooperation in the field of military medicine, presented through the project of Balkan Medical Task Force.
During the conference, presentations were made for the BMTF capabilities and capacities, participation to the NATO medical Exercise “Vigorous warrior 2019” and achieved goals as well as the possibilities for regional operations.
One of the topic of the conference were benefits and challenges of the SMART Defence – pooling and sharing of Military Medical Resources.
